SALT LAKE COUNTY, UT (July 1, 2010) – The Federal Department of State has informed passport acceptance agencies that on July 13th passport fees will increase from $100 to $135 for a regular adult passport. The new fee schedule can be found by going to travel.state.gov:  http://travel.state.gov/passport/fees/fees_5079.html

The Salt Lake County Clerk’s office is a passport acceptance agency, and County Clerk Sherrie Swensen wants to notify the public of the federal fee increase so citizens who are planning to obtain a passport, may apply before the date of the increase. “The County Clerk’s Office is a convenient, one-stop-shop where patrons may apply for passports, have their photo taken and receive assistance from our passport deputies with no appointment necessary and rarely a line,” said Swensen. The Clerk’s office accepts passport applications from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  For more information on applying for a passport at the Salt Lake County Clerk’s office, please visit the passport page on our website at http://www.clerk.slco.org/passport/index.html
